Women in business international forum moves to Syria - 5/7/2005

More than two hundred businesswomen from Syria and abroad will converge at the Omayad Conference Palace Damascus for the Women in Business International Forum that will take place from 20-22 May 2005.

The event, which is under the patronage of HE Mrs Asma al Assad, the first lady of Syria; will be organised and hosted by Women in Business International (WiB), in conjunction with Al Mawred and the British Syrian Society.

Al Mawred, says the Syrian businesswomen stand to benefit greatly from the forum.

“The forum, which will feature business leaders from the UK, Europe, Middle East and other countries mainly involved in business sectors such as oil and energy, health, marketing branding and tourism, will open opportunities for our women in terms of accessing international markets for their products. Also, Syrian women will have the opportunity to share with other participants from other parts of the world their successful business models and be able to benchmark their enterprises against those of the world,” says Al Mawred.

According to founder of Women In Business International, Ahmed Suleiman MBE, ”The forum will provide a platform for businesswomen to exchange views, experiences, expertise, knowledge and for promotion of bi-lateral business opportunities between all the participants whether on an individual basis or country specific. We have just completed the first pan-african Women in Business Forum in South Africa which was extremely successful. We have already received a number of potential delegates to come to the next Forum in Syria“.

The forum will attract businesswomen delegates from at least 20 Countries, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iran, South Africa, UK, USA and Europe.

Uniquely, the Damascus Forum will feature a business to business exhibition for delegates to promote their products and services.
