Business skills programme returns to Kuwait - 10/4/2004
Women in Business International together with the British Embassy in Kuwait have teamed together to organise a series of Business Skills programmes for women entrepreneurs in Kuwait. The Workshops will take place in Kuwait at the British Embassy over two days on 30th and 31st October.
The Business Skills Programme aims to assist women in developing their entrepreneurship and leadership expertise. Arising out of the successful Annual Women in Business in the Arab World Conference held in London the Programme is free to invitees.
Supported by Shell and HSBC Republic the Programme will feature speakers on
Starting up a Business and Business Strategy, Purpose and Promotion:
Stepping-stones to success.
Sir David Gore-Booth (Special Adviser to the Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings) commenting on the Programme says, “ HSBC is proud of its record in the Middle East and proud to be associated with this Programme”
Ahmed Suleiman of Women in Business International says, “The strength of the support from businesswomen for the Women in Business in the Arab World Conference is based on the strong sense of networking of business resources and sharing of business expertise, and business opportunities between Arab and UK businesswomen. The Programme is an extension of these principles”
The Programme brings to the Kuwait expertise from Britain in leadership, management, marketing and business strategies. Guest Speaker at the Kuwait Programme will be Dr Carol O’Connor – a recognised global expert on Strategy and Leadership (her books have been translated in 15 languages) of and Dinah Bennet, Programme Director The Foundation for SME Development University of Durham.
The initiative is supported by the British Government. Richard Parry Head of Trade Partner’s UK’s Middle East Unit, says “ we are happy to support the Business Skills Programme, we feel that it is an ideal forum to promote a networking of skills and expertise between the UK and the Arab World.
“The Community of Kuwait Businesswomen have been very receptive in the past to the Programme., which is why we have initiated this second detailed Programme. We are always overwhelmed by the interest and enthusiasm shown by them” adds Bernie Wilson 1st Secretary Commercial British Embassy.
