Oxford University’s Saïd Business School Offers scholarship opportunities exclusively for Members of Women in Business - 5/6/2007
In an exclusive partnership, Oxford University’s Saïd Business School is offering two scholarship places to members and associates of Women in Business International, on each of its prestigious Oxford Advanced Management Programmes in June 2007 and in October 2007.
Taught over four weeks, the programme equips managers with the insights, knowledge, tools and frameworks required to achieve success at the highest levels of management. It is a popular personal development tool for managers moving into a leadership role, and leaders who would like further development in strategic thinking and leadership skills.
Integrated fully into one of the world’s greatest universities, Saïd Business School draws on Oxford’s strengths across a range of subjects, including sociology, economics, law, psychology, politics and international relations. By collaborating actively with faculty from other disciplines, Saïd Business School is aiming to transcend the traditional functional divisions of a business school in order to reflect the complex realities of business and society in today’s global economy.
The partnership between Saïd Business School and Women in Business is supportive of WiB’s aims to promote and encourage the economic empowerment of women in the work force. “We were attracted to Women in Business’ pioneering mainstreaming approach of gender and equality issues, since this supports the international reputation of Saïd Business School “says Gay Haskins, Dean of Executive Education at Saïd Business School.
Commenting on the scholarships Ahmed Suleiman of Women in Business said – “We are celebrating our tenth anniversary. Over the years we have broken many misconceptions about women and the value of women to the workforce not just in the Middle East, Africa but here in the UK. The Oxford AMP scholarships with Saïd Business School are part of a vision to educate and empower future generations of business leaders who in this case just happen to be women “
In an effort to increase personal development opportunities for women in senior management positions, both organisations have selected the Oxford Advanced Management Programme for its ability to accelerate strategic thinking and leadership skills within four weeks, and its unique offering of studying with senior managers from over 20 countries throughout the programme.
Applicants must be nominated by their organisation and those chosen will be reviewed by Women in Business and Saïd Business School. The closing date for scholarship applications is 27 April 2007. Application forms are available online at http://www.forwomeninbusiness.com/index.asp
