Women in business agenda breaks new ground by entering Turkey
The Women in Business International forum will for the first time take place in Istanbul Turkey this week and to highlight the significance of this step, Mr Erdogan, the Prime Minster of Turkey will himself be addressing the audience.
This Forum, which is backed by British Government body UK Trade and Investment, will act as a hub for international delegates from the Middle East, Europe, UK, USA, India, Pakistan and the Far East to discuss the growing and relevant agenda of the positive role business women can play in a world with new opportunities and threats.
Set up nine years ago, Women in Business, a non for profit company based in the UK, organised the first international conference aimed at highlighting the entrepreneurial achievements of women in the Middle East, and provided a vital platform where business women from the Middle East could network. Since then the event has expanded to highlight the role of women in business all around the world.
UK Women and Equality Minister Meg Munn Said:
“I am delighted that Women in Business is now breaking new ground in Turkey in its constant mission to break stereotype and showcase women at the cutting edge of the business world.
“The UK Government is delighted to back this conference, not only because leading edge women here can inspire a whole new generation of women to reach the top of their profession but also because of the lasting friendships and bonds that are created across different cultures and countries. I am confident that business women across the world can play a huge part in bringing nations closer together.
“The guest list of women speakers this year is very impressive with eight first ladies making a contribution further highlighting the importance that different nations now place on this event”
Ahmed Suleiman MBE, founder of the conference, said:
“The forum will also look to create a new international audience and stage to promote Turkey. It will try to move delegates away from the stereotype images that tend to be the norm and rise to the challenges to look internationally in order to facilitate greater economic promotion and the integration of Turkey as part of the international and European trading network. “
The list of attendees at this event includes first ladies HM Queen Rania of Jordan, Mrs Suzanne Mubarak Egypt, Mrs Asma Al Asaad Syria, Mrs Musharraf of Pakistan and Mrs Karzai of Afghanistan.
The Forum will be held from 27 – 28 April, at Ciragan Palace Hotel Istanbul
